Things to see and do in Denbighshire

Dyserth Waterfall
This Waterfall is located in the picturesque village of Dyserth in Wales. The Waterfall is one of the main attractions of the village.

Dinas Bran
Dinas Bran translates as Crow City in English, but it is usually known as Crow Castle. Castell Dinas Bran is set high above Llangollen and can be seen for miles around.

Little remains of this once great castle, but the effort in making the steep climb up the pathway to the castle is more than made up by the spectacular views over the surrounding countryside.

Bodelwyddan Castle      View website
Bodelwyddan Castle is situated in Denbighshire, North Wales. Set in 260 acres of magnificent parkland, the Castle is a partner of the National Portrait Gallery and is open to the public most days throughout the year.

As well as being a historic house and museum with a free audio tour available, the Castle also boasts large areas of formal garden and natural woodland. A particular feature is the area of practice trenches dating from the First World War.

JJ Canoeing and Rafting      View website
See our GREAT Gift Voucher Offer!!! The UK Premier Outdoor Activity Provider situated in the romantic Vale of Llangollen, Denbighshire, often called the gateway to North Wales, offers the perfect activity to suit you and your family or team. From White Water Rafting to a 90 foot Abseiling experience. The River Dee is not dependant on Dam releases as other Welsh venues are, which makes us truly the only year round White Water Rafting in Wales.

Plas Newydd      View website
Set amidst breathtakingly beautiful scenery on the Menai Strait, this elegant house was redesigned by James Wyatt in the 18th century. The 1930s restyled interior is famous for its Rex Whistler association, containing his largest painting and exhibition. A military museum contains relics of the 1st Marquess of Anglesey, who commanded the cavalry at the Battle of Waterloo. There is a fine spring garden and Australasian arboretum, with an understorey of shrubs and wild flowers, a summer terrace and massed hydrangeas, which give autumn colour. A woodland walk gives access to a marine walk beside the Menai Strait.

Llangollen Railway      View website
is a volunteer-run preserved railway in Denbighshire, Wales; it is easily the longest preserved standard gauge line in Wales. Llangollen Railway runs trains for 7 and a half miles along the banks of the River Dee from Llangollen to Carrog through some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK.

We operate on most weekends throughout the year, and on weekdays between June and October.

Glassblobbery      View website
The Glassblobbery is based in the old church hall at Glanrafon near Corwen. This is one of the most beautiful parts of North Wales and the United Kingdom. Well worth a visit.

David and Wendy Pryce-Jones started the Glass workshop at Glanrafon in October 1989. The Studio and Gallery was opened to the public in 1993 after extensive renovation to the premises.

We have all sorts of handmade glass sculptures including glass animals, glass flowers, glass dragons and other glass sea creatures all bespoke and lovingly hand made at our studio. In addition to our handmade glass sculptures we also produce jewellery, ceramics and other work on show by other artists and craftsmen using other materials. Wooden tree sculpture, slate wine racks, and metal sculptures, ideal mothers day gifts!

Loggerheads Country Park      View website
The Loggerheads area is "Wales' Best Kept Secret", surrounded by the stunning Clwydian Range of hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Loggerheads Country Park is 80 acres of a tree lined limestone valley with riverside walks & a history of lead mining. The main paths are gentle but you can be more adventurous & explore the steep cliffs with views over the surrounding countryside.

Llangollen Motor Museum      View website
We try to be interesting and informative but most of all to demonstrate the charm and character of our motoring past. The museum is not just two rows of old cars quietly rusting away.

Most of our vehicles are on the road. The collection includes a model "T" Ford, a 30/98 Vauxhall, several Austins and Citroens.

Among the motor bikes are most of the names that bring back memories of "British Bikes". The Norton, the Triumph, the Ariel, the Sunbeam and the B.S.A.. An experience not to be missed.
