The Kings Head at Apethorpe is 2 miles to the west, the Falcon Inn at Fotheringhay is 2 miles towards Oundle, The Kings Arms at Polebrook – 5 miles over the A 605 but great atmosphere – something for everyone! Even a fantastic coffee house in Oundle known as “BEANS” – well known to all the local fraternity, situated in the centre of Oundle for somewhere to put your feet up after a long walk.

In the morning you will be woken to the smell of a traditional Northamptonshire breakfast – anything of your choice really from Continental and / or vegetarian, or Full English Breakfast made from the finest local fresh ingredients. Bacon from our local butcher – Moulds of Nassington, local free range eggs and produce from Oundle Farmers Market.

If you are here to relax, then it is time to explore the best that East Northamptonshire and South West Lincolnshire has to offer. This is wonderful walking and cycling country – either from our own front door or by car to the very well known Rutland Water near Oakham – a beautiful reservoir and famous bird sanctuary with cycle paths all around.

If you are here to work – Peterborough City is only a 10 minute drive and the main train station connects to the whole of the country easily – 48 minutes to Kings Cross, London. The beautiful historic town of Stamford in Lincolnshire – home to the famous Burghley Horse Trials – is only 8 miles up the A1, whilst Oundle town is well known for the famous public school and Fairline Boatyard is only 4 miles south of Woodnewton. Oakham, well known for Rutland Water with bird watching and sailing facilities is only 15 miles away whilst Corby and Uppingham are also within easy reach.
