Offering high quality farmhouse B&B accommodation, Lower Farm is located close to Somerton, in Somerset.

Jane and David Sedgman welcome up to 4 guests at a time into their countryside home, which has a rather special atmosphere and many original features.

Previously a coaching inn, Lower Farm has provided hospitality and - accommodation - to visitors over several centuries.

In the past, travellers arrived in horse drawn vehicles, stopping off when making the lengthy and often arduous journey between London and the West Country.

Today's visitors, many following much the same route, still find a warm welcome, rest and comfort in this mellow old building, nestling on the edge of the peaceful hamlet of Kingweston near Somerton.

Enjoy a relaxing stay in the heart of rural Somerset, with country views.

Lower Farm is just over 3 miles (5km) from the junction of the A37 and A303 roads and offers
accommodation near Glastonbury

The Saxons, who had been converted to Christianity, conquered the ancient county of Somerset in the 7th Century. Their King was Ine of Wessex, who was widely regarded as one of the most important figures in the history of the Abbey. He was a local man who boosted the status and income of the Abbey, and it is said that he put up a stone church, the base of which forms the west end of the nave. This church was enlarged in the 10th century by the Abbot of Glastonbury, St. Dunstan, who became the Archbishop of Canterbury in 960.
