Muirhouses Farm

Accommodation Details

Set amidst the beautiful Angus countryside, close to the Cairngorm National Park, Muirhouses is a livestock and arable farm, traditional to the area here at the foot of the Grampian Mountains.

Crops grown include barley for malting whisky, potatoes and grass. We have a suckler herd of Angus x Limousin cows and a flock of Suffolk sheep producing succulent spring lamb. At present we are building up a small, but select, herd of pedigree Limousins which run commercially with the suckler cows.

Muirhouses is the ideal base for golfing, being next to the Kirriemuir course with its panoramic views of the Grampian mountains, and within easy distance of Alyth, Rosemount, Edzell, Carnoustie, Forfar and St.Andrews courses.

With the Cairngorm National Park on our doorstep, hillwalking, mountaineering, cycling and fishing are just a few of the pastimes here. (visitscotland Walkers' & Cyclists' Welcome scheme.) The Caenlochan Nature reserve and RSPB Kinnordy Loch are also close by, catering for nature lovers and bird watchers. The Ospreys can be seen regularly, feeding at Kinnordy Loch.

Whatever your interests, Muirhouses Farm is the ideal base for your week-end break or longer.
