Penny Lally welcomes you to Rose Farm, a very comfortable B & B at Chyanhal, near Penzance in the countryside of Cornwall. Ideal for your farmhouse holiday. Guests at Rose Farm are assured of a very warm welcome and a comfortable and relaxing stay.
All three ensuite, heated rooms are completely private with their own entrances all individually furnished to a high standard with tea/coffee, TV, Radio, hairdryer etc. After a peaceful night’s sleep, perhaps in the romantic four-poster, a delicious farmhouse breakfast using local produce and farm eggs gets guests up for a day exploring the delights of West Penwith.
Rose Farm is a small working farm with a 300 year old granite farmhouse in the tiny hamlet of Chyanhal which means ‘Place by the Moor’ in Cornish. This cosy farmhouse is warm and welcoming and the perfect place to unwind. It is set in the heart of the countryside yet only a short distance away from stunning beaches, coastal walks, excellent restaurants and friendly pubs; also many tourist attractions including the amazing Minack Theatre on the cliffs at Porthcurno.
Rose Farm itself is ancient, having its own ‘standing stones’ part of an iron age encampment, with small fields and earth banks which are covered in an array of wild flowers. The whole area is renowned for its healing properties and there are many iron age sights and places of worship all around West Penwith.
Your host, Penny, breeds and shows Pedigree Simmental cattle which have been successful at county shows as far as the Royal Show in Warwickshire. Thoroughbred Horses bred at rose farm have also been extremely successful both in showing and eventing. On the farm there are also Pedigree Gloucester Old Spot Pigs, sheep, ducks, geese, hens, Guinea fowl etc. Other residents are two cats ‘This One’ and ‘That One’, a Jack Russell called ‘Myrtle’ two Labradors ‘Muppet’ and ‘Madge’ also bred at Rose Farm (and sometimes a litter of puppies!) Meet the Animals
In winter, Rose Farm is the perfect place to come back to with a warm fire to sit by and comfortable rooms after an exhilarating walk on a deserted beach watching the Atlantic waves crashing on the shore; or a moorland walk without the drone of a thousand cars in your ears; or just a quiet drive around our beautiful part of the world, soaking up the stunning scenery.
Or you could try painting with Tim Hall who gives you his individual attention on painting courses here at Rose Farm Studios.
