Accommodation Details

Trehaida is situated in peaceful open countryside in the heart of Du Maurier country just a mile from Bodinnick with the car/passenger ferry across to Fowey. Come and enjoy a holiday seeing our lambs skipping in the fields whilst walking in the quiet lanes.

We offer a warm welcome and have two comfortable centrally heated en-suite rooms - one family room and one double room - with TV, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryers and CD clock radios with alarm. Ironing facilities are available on request. A traditional Cornish farmhouse breakfast is served in the dining room using fresh local produce.

We are Jim and Ann Hair, down-sized farmers, who moved here in September 2005 after building Trehaida over a period of years. We now have 75 acres on which we run 150 breeding ewes and their followers. Lambing time is February and March, with shearing in June, depending on the weather. Ann now enjoys making her own jams and marmalade and meeting new people and giving them a pleasant stay at Trehaida, with a cup of tea and cakes on arrival. A hearty breakfast is served in the dining room, cooked on the traditional farmhouse range.

We are doing our best to provide green tourism by joining COAST, recycling, using low energy bulbs, having water butts and using as much local produce as possible. Evening meals can be readily obtained down at the Old Ferry Inn, or in pubs or restaurants in the surrounding area.

There is plenty to see and do around Fowey and East Cornwall, from visiting quaint seaside villages such as Polperro or attractions such as The Eden Project to walking the Cornish countryside, boating, horse riding, golfing and cycling. Truro and Plymouth are both less than an hour away.
