Attractive well-maintained cottages on small farm 3 miles north of Cirencester. Peaceful surroundings. Ideal for touring the Cotswolds.

Approximately 15 miles from the M4 junction 15 and the M5 junction 11A. Warrens Gorse Cottages are well positioned for easy access to all the picturesque towns and villages of the Cotswolds.

Each cottage is generously equipped, well maintained and cleaned by the owners. Individual gardens and easy parking surrounded by fields with sheep, grazing charolais cows and calves and sometimes registered Exmoor ponies and their foals which are becoming rare.

Beverston Castle
Beverston Castle

Roughly pentagonal castle built in 1229, with round towers and a twin-tower gatehouse which may well be later. From about 1330 the castle was much altered by the addition of a large square corner tower, a domestic block associated with it and a smaller square tower, the latter of C15 date. All that remains is one tower from the gatehouse and rubble from later buildings.

The Eight Bells

The Eight Bells was originally built in the 14th century to house the stonemasons that built St. James’ church and was later used to store the peel of eight bells that were hung in the church tower – hence its name.
