The Global Forest Industry in the 1Q/2012



The Global Conifer Sawlog Price Index (GSPI) declined in the 1Q/12 for the third consecutive quarter to $85.90/m3, down 2.7 percent from previous quarter.  



the Softwood Wood Fiber Price Index (SFPI) fell by 0.4 percent from 4Q/11 to $104.88/odmt, which was a continuation of a declining trend that started 3Q/11.



The Hardwood Wood Fiber Price Index (HFPI) was down 3.5 percent from 4Q/11 to US$109.67 and down seven percent since its all-time-high  in 3Q/11.
