AHDB is looking for a pig producer and an independent member to join the board of AHDB Pork.

The successful applicants will become members in April next year. The producer must be a levy payer, to ensure the views of producers are heard, and will help to steer the strategy for the sector.

The role is being advertised at a pivotal time in the industry, against a backdrop of Brexit, global price volatility, technological innovation and changing habits of British shoppers.

AHDB is funded by the collection of statutory financial levies, which are used to carry out research and development, market intelligence, knowledge transfer, marketing and export activities to support the sectors to become truly world class.

Appointments are for three-year terms from April 2017 and require up to two days per month commitment per year, including attendance at board meetings. Candidates must demonstrate a good working knowledge of the sector and have experience of developing and implementing strategy.

Closing date for applications is 5pm on 5 December 2016 and anyone interested should email christine.standley@ahdb.org.uk for an application pack and details of how to apply.
