Agricultural businesses could win a year’s free energy

Farmers and agricultural businesses are being offered the chance to win a year’s free energy in a competition run by energy consultancy firms Utility Bidder and Business Energy Consultants.

With the rising cost of energy rarely out of the headlines, and many agricultural business owners struggling to balance this cost, the two firms are running a competition for one business to win free energy for one year, up to the value of £10,000. This could cover the cost of either an electricity or gas bill. All the business has to do is register their details online at the company’s website and a winner will be drawn at random.

Recent figures have shown that energy prices are rising at up to eight times the rate of inflation, with the big six suppliers all having increased their prices by around 37% in the last four years.

Predictions for increased fuel price rises indicate that by 2021 energy inflation will have added £8.4 billion per annum to the fuel bill of UK commerce and the public sector combined, raising energy bills from £10.3 billion to £18.7 billion per annum.

Business Energy Consultants specialise in reducing company’s overall energy bills by ensuring that they are on the best tariff for their usage, and that they are paying the correct VAT tariff, which can vary between industries.

James Longley, Managing Director of Business Energy Consultants comments: “We’re really excited to be running this competition and giving businesses from a range of industries, including agriculture the opportunity to get a year’s free energy. With the rapid increases in the cost of business energy, we know how hard it can be to balance the costs of running a business with your profits.

“The competition is designed to give all businesses a fair chance – all you have to do is fill in the form to register your details.”
