All set for an Egg-cellent Easter Road Run

Organisers of the annual Carrington Rally Easter Road Run are all set for an egg-cellent drive through the stunning South Wolds hills. The Run – on Easter Saturday 23 April – will, as usual, set off from East Kirkby Airfield at 10.30am and cover over 30 miles.

The circular drive along country lanes will follow a route via Miningsby, Mareham on the Hill, Somersby and Tetford before stopping for a lunch-time stop at Grange Farm, Salmonby. The return route will be slightly longer and pass through South Ormsby, Brinkhill, Sausthorpe and Old Bolingbroke before finishing back at the Air Museum.

Entries are already coming in including one from Wigan in Lancashire. Among the vintage and classic tractors are Ferguson, Nuffield, David Brown, Fordson, Massey Ferguson and Leyland while commercials include Morris and Bedford vehicles. To date, three Jeeps are also entered with more expected. Anyone wishing to enter the Road Run should contact Malcolm Robinson on 07768 233948.

Spectators are very welcome to watch the start and finish of the Run at East Kirkby Airfield and at any point along the route, including the stop at Grange Farm.

The Road Run will raise funds for a local charity (to be decided); last year the Run raised over £580.00 for Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Services (LIVES).
