Anglesey farmers invited to quiz prospective MPs

NFU Cymru is urging its members on Anglesey to attend a hustings meeting with prospective MPs from the main political parties for the constituency ahead of the General Election on 7 May 2015.

Held at Cartio Môn, Bodedern, on Tuesday, 14 April 2015, local farmers will have an opportunity to quiz the prospective MPs on their party’s rural and agricultural policies.

Anglesey NFU Cymru County Chairman, Christine Jones, said, “Whilst the majority of farming issues are now determined by devolved Government there are still some important aspects determined by Westminster. With a general election due and the possibility that we could be facing a very different political landscape, the prospective candidates now have the opportunity to set out their stall and justify why they are the best candidate for Anglesey.

“The meeting is completely open to anyone within the constituency, however I hope to see a good turnout of farmers so please encourage you friends and neighbours to come along as it gives our members the opportunity to test the awareness amongst the candidates of the main issues affecting our agricultural industry.”
