Award winning organic East Yorkshire bakery celebrates month of taste
As FARMA begins its Month of Taste celebration, an award-winning Wolds bakery reaffirms the value of shopping at Farmers' Markets.
The FARMA (National Farmers' Retail & Markets Association) Month of Taste runs from 14th June to 22nd July and is designed to celebrate the best of local farm-produced British food.
For the Side Oven Bakery at Carr House Farm, Foston on the Wolds in East Yorkshire, Farmers' Markets represent a valuable income stream and communications channel for the organic business.
Caroline Sellers, who owns Carr House Farm with husband, Tim, is delighted to support this initiative; "We started our business at Farmers' markets four years ago and still attend Driffield (1st Saturday of the month), South Cave (2nd Saturday of the month) and Malton (last Saturday of the month) regularly. FARMA does a great job assessing and supporting local producers so that consumers can be 100% confident that they are buying the freshest, most local produce possible whilst supporting their local economy and helping the environment by reducing food-miles."
From humble beginnings in the 'side oven' in a farmhouse kitchen, The Side Oven Bakery now produces an exclusive range of hand crafted artisan breads, flours, mueslis and premium fruit juices in a purpose built bakery and juicery.
