The biggest opportunity to maximise wheat margins is fast approaching.

The T2 ag leaf fungicide is undoubtedly the most important spray of the season, as it gives the biggest payback.

However, this season’s weather has wreaked havoc; missed or late applications at T0, delayed T1 sprays and the extended Septoria latent period, slowing visible infection.

Warm temperatures, heavy morning dews, intermittent showers will now result in a rapid explosion of disease on unprotected leaves.

It’s not been a year for the faint-hearted, and the right curative strategy to ght established infection is now essential.

In independent trials, Adexar® and Librax® containing Xemium®, realised an average yield increase of 0.2* t/ha. That’s a £20 in pro t/ha increase compared to the next best competitor.

But, it was in curative trials that Xemium® really excelled. Adexar® showed a 0.25** t/ha yield increase, while Librax® showed a 0.32** t/ha yield increase; that’s £30 extra net pro t when you take off the chemical costs.

Of course you can use other ag leaf fungicides that may attract less pro t, but don’t say we didn’t warn you.
