Birthday celebrations for Brecon and Radnor NFU

Brecon and Radnor NFU Cymru members are set to commemorate the centenary year of the county organisation at a centenary celebratory dinner.

The NFU county branch of Brecon and Radnor started in 1909, when the first ever meeting for the organisation in Wales, took place at the Lamb Inn, in Glasbury on Wye.

The centenary celebration dinner will take place on 22 May 2009, at the Metropole Hotel, Llandrindod Wells. Commenting on the milestone Estyn James, NFU Cymru Brecon and Radnor County Chairman said, "This is a tremendous achievement for the county. The industry has seen extraordinary change during this time.

"It is a honour to be the County Chairman for the centenary year and I would like to thank all members in the county for their support and contributions provided in the past and most importantly in the future to ensure that the success of the organisation continues.

"The spaces for the dinner are filling rapidly and the dinner promises to be a real celebration of the county’s success. I hope to see a good turnout for this event."

Tickets for the dinner, £25 each, are available from the four NFU Cymru Group offices in the Brecon and Radnor county, or please call the NFU Cymru office on 01982 554200.
