China's impact on beef industry in focus at EBLEX conference

China’s impact on the beef and lamb industry will be among the key topics at this year’s EBLEX annual conference.

The subject will be presented by Michael Sondergaard, supply chain director for Tulip, at the event which is free to levy payers and takes place at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, on November 4.

Places for the conference, which will also focus on efficiency and profitability of producing high quality beef and lamb for domestic and export markets, are limited and are going fast.

Delegates will hear about the retailer perspective on current market conditions, the challenges and opportunities facing beef production, banking and financing in the livestock sector, creating change through supply chain relationships and the outlook for the beef and lamb sector.

Question and answer sessions will be included, with EBLEX staff on hand to discuss technical issues and demonstrate other aspects of the organisation’s work.

Dr Phil Hadley, EBLEX southern senior regional manager and conference organiser, said: “Our annual conference is again proving to be a popular event for professionals throughout the beef and lamb sector supply chain.

“It will give a thorough insight into key issues currently affecting the industry and give delegates the opportunity to discuss the topics with the EBLEX team. I would urge anyone in the industry who has not already registered to attend to do so and avoid missing out on what is a key date in the industry calendar.”
