Cogent celebrates 20 years of Visions with national competition

The renowned Visions young sire testing programme has now been in place for 20 years and there has never been a better time to use progeny-tested bulls.

Launched by Cogent Breeding back in 1995, the programme has seen the graduation of many top class sires such as Aquila Patron Lucente, Crichel Principal, Ballycairn Tiergan Cogent Twist and Wintersell Milo; making it one of the most robust testing programmes available to the UK dairy farmer today.

To celebrate the 20 year milestone, Cogent is staging a nationwide search to find the top daughter born from their Visions programme in the ‘Best of Visions’ competition.

The competition offers farmers throughout the UK the chance to showcase their Visions daughters like never before with the lucky winner crowned top daughter of the last 20 years.

As part of the experience, the successful five finalists will be invited to spend one night at Carden Park Hotel in Cheshire and take part in exclusive tours of Lea Manor’s state-of-the-art dairy unit and the Eaton Estate.

To be eligible for entry daughters must be:

• Bred from the Visions programme,

• A first crop daughter,

• Available for inspection by our judges.

Applications can be submitted using entry forms that will be sent directly to all Visions members or on request from Charlotte Cope 01829 773 473, charlotte.cope@cogentuk.com.

Closing date 30th June 2015.
