Combinable crops chair addresses meeting
Ian Backhouse, NFU Combinable Crops Board Chairman, will address NFU Cymru’s annual south east Wales Arable meeting on Tuesday, 15 November 2011.
Commencing at 7.30pm the meeting will be held at the Legacy Cardiff International Hotel, Cardiff.
Ian Backhouse is heavily involved with the work of the Union in the crops sector in several key areas including biofuels, seeds, the environment and the supply chain. Ian farms on the banks of the river Ouse in north east England growing winter wheat, winter barley, oilseed rape and sugarbeet. He was also appointed in 2010 as Chairman of the Cereals Working Group for COPA-COGECA.
Perkin Evans, NFU Cymru Combinable Crops working group chairman, will also be present.
Stella Owen, NFU Cymru’s Farm Policy Adviser said, ’This meeting will be valuable to arable farmers. I do hope we will get a good turnout. Please also encourage your friends and neighbours to come along.’
