Farm dispersals boost entries for June plant and farm machinery auction

Two consignments from Shropshire farm dispersals have boosted entries for the bi-monthly plant and agricultural machinery auction at Shrewsbury Auction Centre on June 5.

Due to a change in farming practices, the Shropshire family from Wall Furlong Farm, Cleobury Mortimer has entered a good selection of machinery and implements, including John Deere 6630 SE and John Deere 5055 E tractors.

Other entries from the farm include a Marshall and Weeks twin axle bale trailers, a West 12 ton twin axle grain trailer, two towable cattle feeders, a Kverneland mower conditioner, Einblock 18 foot hydraulic folding grass harrows, a Browns aerator, a Lemkin five furrow reversible plough, an Amazon KE 3000 super rotterra, an Abbey VF1450 feeder wagon, Browns hydraulic post knocker and box scraper and Storth slurry lagoon stirrer.

The other dispersal entry is from Messrs D and M. M. Ward, Marsh Farm, Sugden, which includes Ford 6610 and Case International 695 tractors, a Teagle 510 topper and a five ton tipping trailer.

Tractor entries from other vendors include a Case 5120 Powershift with Chilton MX40/85 loader, McCormick CX120 with Quickie loader, Ford 4630, fully restored 1967 Massey Ferguson 135, John Deere 3130, John Deere 2040S, International 785 and 884 models, David Brown 995, a Same Condor wit Quickie loader and a John Deere 3800 telehandler.

Shrewsbury Auction Centre manager Nick Hyne is expecting an entry of around 1,100 lots with high demand for genuine, clean machinery and implements directly from farms.

“More farmers are recognising that it’s an excellent opportunity to sell their unwanted, second hand machinery and implements and the use of i-bidder ensures that there is competitive bidding from a global market,” he said. “The auctions attract buyers from across Europe and as far away as New Zealand.”
