The partnership included representatives from the UK, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and French Guiana.
Phil Ridley, WNSC Enterprise and Development Manager, commented "The partnership brought together six countries with a diverse range of rural circumstances, different actors and stakeholders directly involved in rural development.”
The project looked at obstacles facing young entrepreneurs in rural areas in the participating countries; a questionnaire was completed by rural businesses in each of the countries represented and the findings reported back to partnership. The project also looked at training to be developed for rural development and showcased successful rural businesses in each country, the case studies are being collated in an e-handbook for the partnership to access.
