Fisher German hunts for 'not spots'

The government has just announced that Arqiva has won the £150 million contract to improve mobile coverage in “not spots” across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The project which is due to be completed by 2015, will see new mobile communication masts constructed to provide mobile phone and broadband coverage where there is poor or no coverage currently.

Property specialists Fisher German have a high number of clients in these “not spots” as they tend to be in rural areas.

Ben Burbridge, Fisher German telecoms specialist, said: “This project will be of huge benefit to our farming clients in two ways.

“Arqiva and or their nominated agents will be looking for new sites to build these masts. This means that they will need to approach farmers and landowners to acquire sites.

“I would urge farmers and landowners to talk to Fisher German first to ensure they are securing the best rental income they can.

“The second benefit will be in 2015, once the project is complete. Farmers and landowners in rural and remote areas will be better connected to conduct business for example, day cattle passports.

“Overall, the project will provide improved communication and inclusion for those who are currently somewhat isolated.”

Fisher German is nationally renowned for its work in rural property matters and has 14 offices throughout England.
