Hampton Steel Supports Children in Need

‘Little Miracles’ is a parent led centre, support group and charity for children with special needs, disabilities and life limiting conditions based in Peterborough.

Over the course of a week in October, led by the DIY SOS team, local companies including Hampton Steel Ltd and Plant Fencing Contractors Ltd donated their expertise, products and labour to transform the ‘Little Miracles’ Centre for a BBC One special ‘DIY SOS: The Big Build’ in aid of the BBC’s charity ‘Children in Need’.

The transformation within the space of one week from a pile of rubble to the visual and sensual spectacle that was unveiled on the Friday was a truly amazing culmination of everyone’s hard work and effort.

Wellingborough based manufacturing company, Hampton Steel Ltd, donated its green plastic coated chain link fencing for the Centre’s new onsite mini football pitch; a safe haven for children to run around in, let off some steam and practise their ball skills. The fencing was erected by Plant Fencing Contractors Ltd.

‘To have been a part of such a worthy project was a really wonderful experience. The expectation and then sheer joy on the faces of the parents, children and helpers involved with ‘Little Miracles’ as they were presented with their new Centre was incredibly rewarding. I think all came away bearing a tear and a smile due to what had been achieved in such a short space of time.’ Said Louise Grayson, Marketing Manager at Hampton Steel Ltd.
