Kuhn Farm Machinery will have a wide selection of hay and silage making equipment, seed drills and livestock feeding equipment on display at this year’s Royal Welsh Show. Amongst the machines on display will be the high specification Axis MEMC fertiliser spreader and KUHN’s new BP 28 multi-purpose shredder.

Axis M EMC: high specification twin disc fertiliser spreader

The mechanical drive version of KUHN’s Axis EMC (Electronic Mass Control) system twin disc fertiliser spreaders are available in 1,000 to 4,000 litre capacities with working widths ranging from 12 to 50 metres.

Initially only available on hydraulic drive spreaders from KUHN, the EMC system is now available on mechanical-drive (PTO-drive) Axis models which are typically priced approximately 20–30% below the price of the equivalent hydraulic drive (Axis H EMC) models.

The EMC system constantly measures forward speed, disc speed and fertiliser mass flow (kg/min) at each disc and processes this data to automatically and instantaneously adjust the disc’s outlet aperture on the mover to maintain a target application rate.

The EMC system avoids the need for conventional static calibration testing, and allows all aspects of the spreader’s operation to be controlled from the tractor cab via KUHN’s Quantron E2 control box.

BP 28: multi-purpose shredder

Suitable for maintaining pastures, fallow land and for shredding crop residues and undergrowth, the BP 28 has a working width of 2.79 metres and an overall width of 2.96 metres.

The robust machine is designed to be rear mounted and can also be used with reverse drive tractors. The BP 28 has a minimum/maximum recommended power requirement of 90/150hp, and is fitted as standard with hammer knives suitable for clearing grass – optional Y-knives are also available for clearing undergrowth and crop residues.
