Huge demand for farming roadshow in 2011
A popular roadshow aimed at teaching youngsters all about British farming has been fully-booked for 2011’s summer season.
The NFU’s Let’s Talk Farming roadshow, which makes its first appearance of the year at Chiswick Farmer’s Market in London on Sunday, will visit more than 80 schools, shows and events in 26 counties over the coming months.
The roadshow features Annabelle the model dairy cow, a farmland stage with Astroturf floor, landscape backdrop with video footage of farm animals, tractors and crops, straw bale and cow-hide seats.
NFU senior campaigns officer Gemma Fitzpatrick said: "The roadshow never fails to bring a smile to the faces of children up and down the country, including those who live in urban areas who don’t have easy access to the countryside.
"We are delighted that thousands of people will be able to learn about British farming and how their food makes the journey from the farm to their dinner plates."
