John Deere, Massey Ferguson and Fendt to showcase new machinery at LAMMA 2015

New tractor series from John Deere, Fendt and Massey Ferguson will be unveiled for the first time at LAMMA 2015. Many of machines will be making their UK show debut, following their European launch.

Fendt, traditionally known for its dominance of the high horsepower sector, is now also looking to smaller farms as an opportunity to continue its market share growth.

John Deere's new 6R and 6M Series tractors will be featured on their stand at the show.

Massey Ferguson said it was proud to announce three brand new tractor ranges will be previewed at LAMMA 15, alongside a range of machinery that sees the brand springboarding into 2015 full of confidence amid a growing market share.

The latest John Deere machines have been designed to improve machine performance, uptime and operating costs for both arable and livestock farmers, as well as contractors.

MF will also exhibit the new Global Series of tractors, the MF 4700.

The platform version of the MF 4700 will be the first of this new modular range of machines. It is the result of a $350m white paper investment by AGCO, and is the long awaited addition to the extensive range of choice that Massey Ferguson now offers.

John Deere

Spearheading the 6R Series mid-size tractors from Mannheim, the six-cylinder 6215R large frame model features enhanced manoeuvrability, improved operator comfort and an industry leading extended service interval of 750 hours. The tractor is powered by a new 6.8-litre Stage IV compliant engine rated at 215hp (97/68 EC), with an extra 40hp boost for transport and pto work from the intelligent power management (IPM) system.

Fuel efficiency of this new model can be enhanced by choosing either the established AutoPowr continuously variable transmission or the new, advanced double-clutch DirectDrive transmission. The new CommandARM – as featured on John Deere’s latest 7R and 8R Series tractors – features an electronic joystick and a Generation 4 CommandCenter display. In addition, this FarmSight-ready 6R Series tractor can be fitted with JDLink telematics as an option, to include remote display access (RDA) and wireless data transfer (WDT).

The small frame 6105M is a new lower horsepower addition to the 6M Series standard tractor range from 115 to 170hp. This model has been designed as an entry level livestock tractor, with extra premium features compared to the 5M Series.

It features a a full-frame design, Stage IIIB 4.5-litre four-cylinder PowerTech diesel-only engine, proven PowrQuad and AutoQuad Plus 40kph transmissions plus optional Triple Link Suspension (TLS) and iTEC Basic headland management system. The 6105R can also be optionally fitted with GreenStar and ISOBUS ready wiring to further improve productivity, and comes as standard with CESAR Datatag and integrated immobiliser systems.

The 4000-litre R4040i self-propelled sprayer is also powered by a new 6.8-litre Stage IV compliant PowerTech engine, producing 235 rated hp boosted to 255hp with IPM. The sprayer comes AutoTrac ready and with a free JDLink Ultimate subscription for one year, which enables a range of additional FarmSight precision farming solutions including RDA and WDT, as well as Service Advisor Remote.

The sprayer’s new variable geometry BoomTrac Pro option increases application accuracy and efficiency by automatically adjusting the height of the individual boom wings independently to match the terrain.

The top of the range 8600i wide body self-propelled forage harvester features a Stage IV compliant 625hp 13.5-litre John Deere engine, the unique, award-winning HarvestLab constituent sensing system and new KernelStar2 multi-crop processor.

John Deere is currently the only forager manufacturer with a proven, accurate, commercially available system for measuring both grass and maize constituents in real time. Mounted on the forager spout, the versatile HarvestLab system can be removed easily for stationary feed analysis of different forage ingredients and for clamp silage analysis in the winter.

These new products will be shown at LAMMA alongside a range of other John Deere agricultural equipment, Gator utility vehicles and FarmSight precision farming systems.

Massey Ferguson

Since the inception of the brand, Massey Ferguson has produced more than four million tractors in the 60 – 120 hp bracket.

With the new Global Series, Massey Ferguson has taken the concept of the utility tractor and re-engineered it from the ground up to meet the needs of present and future farming. On offer in this power bracket is an array of build specifications, options and accessories, all designed to help tailor your machine exactly the way you need it for your farming operation. Ideally suited in platform version as a yard tractor, or for indoor operations, or a smallholding, Massey Ferguson can confirm that the full range of MF 4700 series, including cab models, will be available for sale in late 2015.

MF are keeping the final range to be previewed at LAMMA under tight wraps, but confirm that it will be a new range built at the Massey Ferguson factory in Beauvais France, and will feature a number of new models, incorporating innovative new features.

Commenting on the considerable number of new machines being shown, National Sales Manager, Rob Dunk says “ The UK and Ireland continue to be important growth markets for Massey Ferguson, so it is only fitting that we use the first show of the year, LAMMA as the perfect opportunity to introduce these exciting new ranges to farmers. We continue to see Massey Ferguson growing in all horsepower sectors, and these new ranges will help us achieve continued growth. Massey Ferguson’s comprehensive range of tractors, combines, balers and telehandlers has never been in better shape, and we will be bringing some special spring offers to LAMMA with us.”

Massey Ferguson continues to see market share growth from its investment in harvesting technology. Centora and Beta combines, built at the AGCO centre of harvesting in Breganze, Italy will be at LAMMA, alongside the best-selling MF range of big and small square balers, from AGCO’s factory in Hesston Kansas.

“We are working closer than ever in partnership with our dealers to develop our harvesting business” comments William Judge, National Sales Manager, AGCO harvesting. “ We recognise the investment that harvesting machinery involves, and are working hard to prove that we offer something different from other brands. Our support infrastructure continues to be proven to be reliable and robust, and with our harvesting promise on parts delivery now available we are pleased to be setting the highest levels of industry support for these products”.

Fendt

Fendt, a major force in the high horsepower sector of the market, will use LAMMA to showcase the Fendt 300 S4 and 500 model ranges, aimed firmly not only at arable but also mixed farms. This coincides with a major push to engage directly with farmers in these sectors.

“ Fendt is known for its class leading frugal fuel economy, superb residual value, and overall leading cost of ownership packages” comments Martin Hamer, National Sales Manager UK and Ireland.

“However, we see great opportunities in talking to not only arable but also mixed farmers about the fantastic value Fendt can offer to their enterprises too. Whilst our traditional larger arable machines come fully stocked, we are looking at an alternative approach whereby we offer three packages of machine – entry level Power, middle spec Profi, and top end Profi Plus, with the latter being more akin to the traditional Fendt offering of a fully specced machine”

Fendt are confident that the 300 S4 and 500 models will find favour with new customers.

“Farmers of all sectors are always telling us that Fendt meets their criteria for reliability, cost of ownership and performance” continues Mr Hamer.” We have listened to those who tell us that they need other options in the lower horsepower brackets, and therefore have launched this new strategy with three specification levels to allow more choice in this competitive sector of the market”

Now with over one full season of both grass and maize behind it, Fendt’s Katana forage harvester has performed extremely well, both in the field, and on dealer’s order pads. “Retail orders have more than met our plan” comments William Judge, National Sales Manager for AGCO Harvesting. “ The Katana has performed consistently well against all competitors, and all our retail units have of course been conquests from the competition, due to Fendt being a new entrant in the market. Our support infrastructure has been proven to be rugged and reliable, and we are eagerly awaiting the other machines in the Katana range, due for the 2015 season”

Overall, the Fendt team are in positive mood, as the brand seeks to strengthen its overall market share in the UK and look forward to meeting progressive farmers at LAMMA to discuss how Fendt can best fit into their farming business model.
