Large crowd braces rain for Stone machinery auction

A large crowd braved heavy rain showers at auctioneers Halls’ successful collective machinery auction at Stanklyn Lane, Stone near Kidderminster last Friday as 1,600 lots went under the hammer.

The day’s leading prices included £2,200 for a mini digger, £1,900 for an International 84 2wd tractor, £1,500 for a Leyland tractor with loader, £700 for a Honda 300cc quad bike and £600 for a golf buggy.

The good trade continued in the farm machinery section as a 12 tonne Gull grain trailer made £1,800, 30 concrete silage panels made £60 apiece, a Lely 240LC mower sold for £1,050, a vegetable barrel washer made £1,000, a Four rota tedder made £820 and a potato bagger sold for £700.

The vehicle and trailer section saw the best price of the day go to a tri axle 14 foot Ifor Williams stock trailer, which sold after the auction for £3,500. A Mini Cooper sold for £1,500 and an Indespension trailer made £1,000.

The usual selection of timber, building materials, garden machinery and sundries generated enthusiastic bidding throughout despite the occasional rain storm.
