Large crowds expected at vintage tractor auction

Twenty vintage tractors in various states of repair will be going under the hammer at a 600-lot auction in Shropshire later this month.

The tractors, a wide range of vintage farm machinery and other vehicles belonged to Craig Beaman, of Fitz Mill, Montford Bridge, near Shrewsbury, who died earlier this year.

The auction is being conducted by leading Shropshire-based auctioneers Halls on behalf of the executors of the late Mr Beaman at Fitz Mill on Saturday, June 25 at 10.30am.

Halls’ auctioneer Nick Hyne said it was a unique auction, which comprised a wide and varied selection of vintage tractors, farm machinery, vehicles and workshop equipment.

’Mr Beaman was very well known in the local community and had a passion for collecting vintage tractors and machinery,’ he added. ’The Beaman family had lived at Fitz Mill for over 100 years.

’This type of sale hasn’t been seen in Shropshire for many years and we are expecting a huge crowd of prospective buyers on the day.’

The vintage tractors include a rare Nuffield Model M4, a McCormick Farmall A from the 1940s, a Massey Ferguson 178 with a Farmhand F11 loader, a David Brown 25, five International 634s, three International 434s, three Leylands, a Fordson Super Dexter and Fordson Major.

Other vehicles include a Caterpillar D2 crawler, a Droit crawler, two New Holland M103 combine harvesters, BMC lorries, three Mercedes cars and a Land Rover.

In addition, there are around 80 lots of Harry Ferguson and Massey Ferguson vintage machinery.
