A man has died after an accident on a farm in the Dungannon area of Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

The Police said they received a report of the "sudden death" of the man at Rhone Road at about 14:00 BST on Sunday.

It is believed the accident involved a piece of farm machinery.

The Health and Safety Executive NI has confirmed that they are investigating the incident.

The HSENI said their “thoughts are with the man's family at this most difficult time.”

Sinn Féin MLA Linda Dillon said: “This death on a farm in the Dungannon area will have shocked the local area and the wider farming community.

"Any death on a farm is one too many. I send my sympathies to the family and friends of this man at this difficult time."

Tom Elliott, Ulster Unionist MP for Fermanagh & South Tyrone, said: "Whilst the full details are not yet known, I understand that the young man was in his thirties and was planning to get married sometime in the near future.

"I extend my sympathies to the grieving family at this dreadfully sad time."
