Mitas Premium range to replace Continental-branded agricultural tyres

Mitas Tyres will replace all Continental-branded agricultural radial tyres currently fitted to new tractors and harvesters by major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) with its new Mitas Premium range from January 2015. This forms part of a new strategy which is designed to build equity into the Mitas brand and will include the launch of the Mitas Premium range into the replacement market during 2015.

Manufactured in exactly the same factories, using exactly the same equipment and raw materials, to exactly the same quality standards as equivalent Continental-branded products, Mitas Premium tyres have been fully accepted by all major OEM partners, including AGCO, ARGO, Claas, CNH, John Deere and Same Deutz-Fahr. In October 2014 Claas became the first OEM partner to begin fitting Mitas Premium tyres to its new harvesters and tractors and others will do so by January 2015.

Key products in the Mitas Premium range for high-horsepower tractors and harvesters currently include Mitas Very High Flexion (VF) tyres, HC 1000 and HC 2000, together with Super Flexion Tyres (SFT), the most recent addition. Other Mitas Premium products include the SFT IF (Improved Flexion Technology), CHO (Cyclic Harvesting Operations), SST (Silent Speed Tyre), AC 65, HC 70, AC70T, AC85 Row Crop, AC90 row Crop and AGRITERRA trailer tyres.

Mitas has manufactured Continental tyres under license since 2004 and will continue to produce Continental-branded agricultural tyres until 2019 when the agreement expires, but the long-term focus is on the Mitas brand. Mitas continues to invest heavily in its own research and development, which has already resulted in the introduction of several innovative new products that are designed and manufactured solely under the Mitas brand. These include the Very High Flexion and Improved Flexion tyres for high-horsepower tractors and new-generation combine harvesters. The range of Mitas Super Flexion Tyres, which draw on the Continental SVT technology, has also been extended. Mitas aims to constantly upgrade the Mitas Premium range and introduce new products, which will include the launch of a new VF HC 3000 tyre for harvesters at the beginning of 2015.
