NFU Cymru Conference: 'It’s time to look to the future'

In keeping with NFU Cymru’s current It’s Time to Back Welsh Farming Campaign next month’s NFU Cymru annual conference’s theme will be ‘It’s time to look to the future’.

Stephen James, NFU Cymru President said, “This year’s conference will bring together a line-up of world class speakers who will look at the future of Welsh farming; not just from a political perspective, both domestically and at a European level, but also future global food industry developments and technology in farming.”

This year’s conference speakers include: the Deputy Minister for Farming and Food, Rebecca Evans AM; Tom Tynan, who was appointed to Agriculture and Rural Development Commissioner Phil Hogan’s cabinet in October 2014; Professor Peter Mills, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Harper Adams University; Professor David Hughes, an Emeritus professor of food marketing at Imperial College London.

The conference will finish off by hearing the views of some of our younger members in a panel debate.

Stephen James said, “Our thanks go to our Conference sponsors, Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales, for their support for the conference which looks set to be both topical and very interesting.”
