NFU deputy to visit farms

NFU Cymru’s Deputy President, Stephen James, will address two separate on-farm meetings in Montgomeryshire, on Thursday, 23 September 2010.

The first of the two meetings will start at 10.00am and will be held at Morfodion Farm, Llanidloes, by kind permission, of Montgomeryshire NFU Cymru County Vice-Chairman, Edward Chapman and his family.

Stephen James will then make his way up north of the county to Glaniwrch Farm, Llanrhaeadr-Ym-Mochnant, to the second meeting, which starts at 2.00pm, through kind permission of Nigel Evans and his family.

Stephen James, will open the meetings with a discussion about the current measures taking place in Wales to combat bovine TB. Members will also have an opportunity to ask questions on other policy issues, including the latest developments on the Glastir scheme and current market prices.

David Jones, Montgomeryshire NFU Cymru County Chairman said, "We are very grateful to Stephen James for agreeing to address these meetings and to both families for agreeing to host them on their farms. I would like to extend a warm welcome to as many local farmers as possible to either meeting."
