New Fendt 700 Vario models make UK debut at LAMMA Show

The Fendt 714 Vario, which makes its UK debut at the LAMMA Show in January, is one of three new models that join the impressive 700 Vario Series, which now begins at 145hp.

At the show Fendt will also be explaining the huge fuel savings on offer to users and why they are world’s most fuel efficient tractors.

The new Fendt 700 Vario tractors include the 714 Vario (145hp), 716 Vario (165hp) and 718 Vario (180hp). With these additions the range now expands to offer models from 145hp through to 240hp.

In common with the more powerful models, the three new tractors in the 700 Vario Series are powered by new 6.06 litre capacity, six cylinder Deutz engines, using the same SCR exhaust after treatment as the 800 and 900 Varios.

Another key feature in the Fendt Efficient Technology package is the renowned Vario TMS transmission. The two smaller models, the 714 and 716 Varios, are equipped with the ML 140 version, while the new 718 Vario and above have the ML 180. The Vario continuously variable transmission is proven to provide an increase

output of up to 10% compared with powershift gearboxes.

Both transmissions employ the TMS (Tractor Management System), which further optimises performance, providing an electronic link that adjusts the engine rpm and travel speed automatically to ensure the tractor always operates at the peak efficiency. This not only cuts fuel consumption by 10%, it also eases operation. Top speed of 50km/hr is achieved at just 1,700rpm for fast, quiet and efficient transport work.

Al new models come with the new VisioPlus, four-post cab, which sets new standards of vision and comfort. A curved front windscreen, which extends into the front of the roof, provides unparalleled forward vision with a total of 5.2m’ of glass and a clear view to both sides. Air conditioning is standard, with an option for full climate control.

A new, three-point, pneumatic cab suspension option further improves on the comfort provided by the standard mechanical or deluxe pneumatic systems. Inside, the cab is equipped to automotive standards with a new fully adjustable and telescoping dash unit, which moves with the steering wheel.

The familiar Fendt armrest houses the Vario multi-function joystick control and is equipped with a 10.4in Varioterminal screen on ProfiPlus models and a 7in screen on the Profi versions. Both terminals are ISObus compatible and provide Variotronic control of the headland management system and TMS ’ engine and transmission control system.

On ProfiPlus models the VarioGuide, the Fendt developed, fully automatic steering system option is also operated through the same terminal as is the new VarioActive steering option. This can be set to turn the front wheels lock-to-lock in less than one revolution of the steering wheel.

A new ’parking position’ for the rear linkage is being introduced on these models and will also be available for 800 and 900 Varios. A simple, but effective, system it allows the rear link arms to be lifted up and ’parked’ without the use of tools. This provides unrivalled clearance for the drawbar and PTO shaft and allows for much tighter turns with towed equipment.

Also new is the option of a ’Plug and Work’ hydraulic multi-coupling that connects up to six hoses, the electrics and ISObus plug all in one go. An RFID (Radio-frequency Identification) tag automatically identifies the implement and immediately loads the settings into the Varioterminal on the tractor. This will be available for the larger 700 Vario Series as well as the 800 and 900 Varios.

The new Fendt 700 Vario models are available in two levels of specification - Profi and ProfiPlus - to suit the requirements of most UK customers. The Profi spec will be the standard offering for the UK. These can also be upgraded to ProfiPlus specification, which among other features includes the 10.4in VarioTerminal screen, VarioGuide auto-steer ready and VarioActive steering.

All are also available with StarService, which is a full manufacturer’s warranty that extends the standard single year to up 6,000hrs or five years to provide complete peace of mind, as well as helping buyers to budget for the precise cost of ownership.
