New opportunity for postgraduate students at CropWorld Global 2011

CropWorld Global 2011, to be held at ExCel, London from 31 October to 2 November, is an internationally focused, three-day conference and exhibition providing unique learning, knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities for those involved in the increasingly complex world of global food production.

Encompassing every aspect of the crop production value chain, this event is one of the few in the world to incorporate the global picture, focusing not only on science and technology, but also on finance and investment, research and development, sustainable farming and land use, public relations and communication and a whole host of other current issues.

This year the organisers have arranged a new poster session specifically for postgraduate students, entitled the BCPC Student Poster Session. Successful student poster presenters will be able to attend the conference free of charge; other students can attend at the academic rate of £150 for one day or £250 for the three days, if paid before 12 August.

In addition, BCPC will be awarding a 1st prize of £500, a 2nd prize of £250 and 3rd prize of £125 to the three winning posters that a judging panel of world-renowned industry experts and academics deem to showcase the most ground-breaking research.

The AgriFood Charities Partnership (AFCP) is encouraging charities to consider supporting their students working on projects involving crops to attend this international conference and, if appropriate, submit posters. Charities may want to help students to attend by helping to fund accommodation and/or travel.

Students interested in presenting their work should complete the Poster submission form on the CropWorld Global website (www.cropworld-global.com) where full details of the conference and exhibition can also be found. For more information on the student poster awards contact nicola.bowen@ubm.com, the conference programme editor, or graham.jellis@tiscali.co.uk, who is coordinating activity on behalf of AFCP and as a member of the BCPC Executive Board.
