New recruit for Certis

Certis UK has appointed Matthew Goodson to take on the role of Technical, Regulatory and Product Management Assistant, based at the crop protection firm’s Cambridge office.

Goodson's dual role involves working with Dr Edward Smith to ensure product compliance with stringent regulatory criteria; as well as with Certis’ marketing and business development manager Robert Lidstone to assist with the company’s marketing activities.

Prior to joining Certis, Goodson spent three years as a laboratory technician at Stockbridge Technology Centre, based in North Yorkshire. Here he trained as a plant pathologist while working in the Plant Clinic and Research Laboratory. Prior to his time at Stockbridge he gained a BSc Honours degree in Applied Biology from the University of Newcastle.

“We are pleased to welcome Matthew to the company,” comments Robert. “He brings a strong scientific background and experience in pesticide registration and crop trials, and has worked within a plant clinic environment, diagnosing crop problems and developing solutions.”

“My aim is to further develop my knowledge of the horticulture sector, support the Certis team and play a part in the growth of the business.”
