Offers invited for land as owner prepares to emigrate

Written offers are being requested by Shrewsbury agents Halls for a 105-acre block of productive agricultural land near the village of Westbury.

The land is being sold on behalf of David Paddock, who has decided to emigrate to New Zealand to set up a contracting business. Whitton Farm has been owned and farmed by the Paddock family for 88 years.

"Whilst the land on offer has been mainly used for arable crops and potatoes, it is equally suited to grassland," said Shaun Jones from Halls’ professional department. "The land represents a sound investment as a whole or as an expansion to an existing holding."

With a guide price of between £5,500 and £6,000 an acre, the land is available as a whole or in four lots. Written offers must be received by at Halls, Welsh Bridge, Shrewsbury by noon on July 10.
