Over 6,000 bowls of Dorset Cereals are enjoyed
The UK's fastest growing breakfast cereal company Dorset Cereals, donated over 6,000 breakfasts to events held throughout the country for Farmhouse Breakfast Week. From Somerset County Council to the Oxford branch of the National Farmers' Union (NFU), and the Dorset branch of the Women's Food and Farming Union (WFU), guests at breakfast events enjoyed a variety of the Company's award-winning recipes.
"We love getting involved in Farmhouse Breakfast Week, which is a key event for us and so many other producers. It is a really important week for the UK food industry as it helps to raise awareness of the wide range of regional and local breakfast producers. During the week visitors to events from Devon to Oxford were able to try our cereals and it was great to be able to provide so many breakfasts," said Patrick Horton from Dorset Cereals.
Farmhouse Breakfast Week is a national event which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle by making time for breakfast. Over 1600 events were held during the week, from home-cooked breakfasts at B&B's to breakfast lessons at schools.
Jean Coates from the WFU said: "Members of the Dorset branch of the Women's Food and Farming Union held breakfast events in their own homes during the recent Farmhouse Breakfast Week. One member encouraged visitors to bring their own ideas for breakfast recipes and encouraged them to have a go in the farmhouse kitchen, and several members invited donations for their favourite charity."
