Pig breed classes separated at Newark Show

Organisers of the Newark & Nottinghamshire County Show (Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May) are pleased to announce that both Traditional and Modern pig classes will be judged in separate breed classes.

The move is aimed at encouraging pig breeders and exhibitors to take advantage of the revised schedule to showcase individual breeds.

Classes are available for several modern breeds including Large White, Welsh, Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace and Pietrane while traditional breeds include British Saddle Back, British Lop, Berkshire, Gloucestershire Old Spot, Tamworth, Middle White, Large Black and Oxford and Sandy Black.

Schedules are available by post from the Competitions & Entries Secretary, Newark & Nottinghamshire Agricultural Society, Newark Showground, Lincoln Road, Newark-on-Trent NG24 2NY (please enclose an A5 addressed envelope with 75p postage) or can be downloaded from the website: www.newarkshowground.com.
