Search on for farming families to take part in new TV show

The search is on for families from all over the UK and Ireland to take part in a new TV show.

In the new production for Sky1, three families from across the nations will showcase their farming skills and knowledge by taking part in a variety of challenges at the Country Fair.

The tasks will demonstrate what it takes to run a proper family farm on a daily basis and the effort made to care for the landscape and feed a nation. At the end of each show, one family will take home the winning title and prize and become one of Britain’s Best Farming families.

“We want to hear from farmers who love the land and despite the highs and lows of the industry, would never dream of doing anything else for a living,’ said Country Fair Series Producer, Non Griffith of Cwmni Da production company.

“We want to hear from first time farmers as well as families who’ve been farming for generations - what’s important for us is that they’re passionate about what they do, want to celebrate their skills and have fun along the way,’ she added.

The first show will be about sheep, so shepherds and sheep farmers from the uplands and the lowlands, those with hill farms or small holdings, are all being urged to get in touch. The tasks may require as many as four people which could include family members, friends or neighbours.
