Sumo open days set to show development of Versadrill

Sumo announce their 2011 Open Days which will take place on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th November between 10am and 4pm at their factory at Melbourne, near York.

’Our annual Open Days are the opportunity to see the current range of Sumo machinery on display in our factory,’ says Sumo’s Managing Director Shaun Wealleans. ’And they will mark the launch of the all-new 2012 Mounted Trio - as well as a sneak preview of the next generation Sumo drill, the Versaplus. There will also be working demonstrations of our lasers and robot welders giving an insight into part of our manufacturing process.

’The Open Days are a showcase for the Sumo philosophy of continuing development of our machines through investment in R&D, and we are proud that our approach has been recognised by the RASE with the company being awarded the Sir Roland Burke Machinery Trophy for 2011.’

The Trophy is presented to a company with manufacturing facilities within the United Kingdom which has distinguished itself by making significant contributions over a number of years to the development of mechanisation in specific fields or by supplying a substantial range of products. The Judges selected Sumo as they not only met all of the criteria, but demonstrated themselves to be a forward-thinking innovative company who identify the demands of British agriculture and effectively deliver solutions, thereby providing a valuable and long lasting contribution to the agricultural sector.

’Invitations to our Open Days are available through any Sumo dealer.
