Friday Street Farmhouse is a substantial period farmhouse located in a rural, yet convenient location with a useful complex of outbuildings, attractive gardens, paddock and pond/wildlife area, in total 2 acres. It has leant itself very well indeed over the years as a Bed & Breakfast and could continue to do so, as the layout and accommodation are particularly flexible for this or as a family home requiring ancillary accommodation if needs be.
The accommodation is spacious and well proportioned with many period features being retained. To the groundfloor there are 2 good size reception rooms, a well appointed farmhouse style kitchen with an oil fired Aga, a range of solid oak kitchen units with granite work surfaces, a lovely garden room and useful rear lobby with cloakroom. There is currently a guest bedroom on the groundfloor, accessed via the main entrance hall, with no need to go through the main house. To the first floor there are 4 double rooms, one with ensuite facilities, a family bathroom and a large landing/study area.
GROUNDS & GARDENS:
The garden and land surrounding the property is very well maintained with a mix of fence and hedge boundaries. The outbuildings are currently utilised as follows, a detached self contained annexe, a garden room ( former piggery) and a double garage with attached home office. Towards the far end of the garden there is a pond and more natural area to attract an array of wildlife, from here there are views over adjoining farmland.
Nearby Christian Malford is one of the few villages in the area retaining the facilities and amenities villages used to have. With a primary school, church, village shop/post office, pub and village hall, where there are many social events and activities arranged on a regular basis. Nearby Chippenham provides an excellent range of shopping facilities and amenities including mainline rail services (Paddington about 75 minutes) and modern sports/leisure centre; excellent road communications provide easy access to the major employment centres of Bristol and Swindon via the M4 together with London and the West Country.
