The Area

For many years Darras Hall has been regarded as one of the prime residential areas of the north east. Situated on the fringe of Ponteland, Darras Hall comprises a broad selection of imposing and executive homes with many of the regions most exclusive properties being located close by. Ponteland itself is a village which has evolved into a thriving centre with many amenities being within walking distance. The village has 3 public houses, restaurants, 2 supermarkets along with primary and secondary schooling. There is also a golf club, leisure centre and health club. There is a first school within Darras Hall itself which also has a local parade of shops. For the commuter the A696 links Ponteland with the A1(M) and there are further roads leading south to the A69. The location is therefore ideal for the commuter with Newcastle airport and the east coast mainline railway providing links with the rest of the country. Many of the attractions of the region are within a short drive, beyond which can be found the delights of the east coast, Northumberland National Park, the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales/Moors. The vibrant city of Newcastle offers a broad range of retail, recreational and cultural amenities as well as a variety of private and state educational establishments including Newcastle and Northumbria universities.
