Eatonbrook House was, we understand, converted from a former barn into this very desirable country home in 1986. It is set within some of the most beautiful countryside in Shropshire. The house itself exudes character throughout and the land is divided into a garden and two paddocks, one of which is also a wild flower meadow.
Rushbury is a small village which would be of particular interest to anyone seeking a tranquil rural lifestyle. Within Rushbury there is a primary school of repute and a parish church. In neighbouring Wall there is a thriving community hall and village inn. Rushbury lies about 18 miles from Ludlow and about 4.5 miles from Church Stretton and 8 miles from Much Wenlock. It is within relatively easy commuting distance of Bridgnorth and the West Midlands.
The extensive accommodation within the house is very flexible. The reception hall, with oak built cupboards and a limestone tiled floor gives access to the dining room from which stairs lead to the galleried music room and one of the ensuite bedrooms. The main drawing room has a wealth of exposed wall and ceiling beams, sliding doors to outside and a focal point is an attractive fireplace housing an oil fired stove. There is a separate sitting room and study and a well equipped kitchen with an extensive range of bespoke oak units with granite worktop. In the kitchen is a centre aisle and built in appliances include an oven, hob, combi microwave, dishwasher, fridge and extractor. Also on the ground floor is a utility room and laundry/store room.
The inner hall give access to three double bedrooms. One bedroom has an adjoining dressing area with two double wardrobes and the guest bedroom has paddle stairs leading to a useful mezzanine area. It also has an ensuite shower/WC. Bedroom three is presently used as a study. Stairs from the dining room lead to the first floor music gallery and bedroom four which also has an ensuite bathroom/WC.
The land in total extends to around 6 acres. Within the formal gardens surrounding the house are lawn areas and a large ornamental pond. There are two paddocks, one of about half an acre and the other about 5 acres of fairly level land bordered by a brook. There is a detached timber stable block with water and electricity supply which includes three loose boxes and a tack room. There is also an adjoining garden shed. The double garage/workshop adjoins the main residence. There is a drive from the lane which leads to a parking area which will accommodate several vehicles.
Eaton Brook House is surrounded by lovely countryside on all sides and enjoys some wonderful views.
