4303 viewsMilking, yogurt tasting and butter making were just a few of the activities on offer at this year’s Nottinghamshire County Show as the National Farmers Union hosted a range of dairy based activities to help raise awareness about the dairy farming industry.
The British dairy industry is going through a rough period at the moment with milk prices falling and debt for farmers across the county rising. With this in mind, the NFU decided to dedicate their stalls at this year’s show to all things dairy. Visitors were able to make butter from scratch, try their hand at milking a cow and see two Montbeliarde cows close up.
