Agriculture dept investigating live sheep exports to Pakistan

An investigation has begun into horrific reports about the treatment of Australian sheep in Pakistan. Pakistani newspapers have reported on video images which they say show the inhuman treatment of animals during their culling, including some being buried alive.

The ABC has not seen the video.

The Perth-based company responsible for the export of the sheep, Wellard, says it is concerned. The Department of Agriculture is now investigating.
