Beef prices soar as ranchers cull cattle

The severe drought that has afflicted large parts of the United States is expected to send beef prices soaring after a dramatic cattle cull this year.

The drought, the worst in 60 years, has devastated grassland across the Midwest and has damaged corn and soya bean crops, which are used as feed stock by ranchers.
