Beef still a solid bet despite a perfect storm this summer
The sharp cut in beef prices -- more than 30c/kg since the middle of July -- has dented cattle farmers' confidence.
Whether that confidence was misplaced in the first place is now academic, but there were raised eyebrows at some of the prices paid for store cattle and weanlings earlier in the year.
