Brian May upsets farmers with his latest plan to save badgers
The former Queen guitarist has bought 115 acres of land near Wareham, Dorset to turn into an “ecological sanctuary” for wildlife.
The land around the village of Bere Regis is surrounded by dairy farming country where farmers blame badgers for spreading the cattle disease bovine tuberculosis.
As a landowner, Dr May will prevent farmers killing badgers as part of any forthcoming cull and may instead experiment with vaccinating the animals against bTB.
