Canadian farmers embracing genetically engineered crops

If you wanted to buy Canadian canola oil that wasn't produced from a genetically engineered plant, you would have to look awfully hard.

And it wouldn't be easy anymore to find Ontario corn or soybeans, used in hundreds of supermarket foods, that weren't modified to carry traits from plants.

A report on the global adoption of genetically modified crops has found that Canada has the second biggest rate of increase in GM crops from a year ago, exceeded only by Brazil.
