Climate affect on crops worse than thought

Research has found climate change could reduce agricultural crop production sooner than had been predicted.

A study published in the Nature Climate Change journal has found global warming of two degrees could significantly reduce crop yields by as early as 2030.

One of the study's authors, Dr Mark Howden of the CSIRO, says changes in climate extremes are happening faster than scientists had anticipated.
