Consumers and farmers caught in milk price war
It's been two years exactly since paying one dollar a litre for milk became the norm for milk consumers.
On supermarket shelves across Australia generic, or non branded, milk bottles are lined up alongside traditional brands. Both are supplied by the same cows, some even by the same dairy farms. Yet the generic bottles are sold for less than half the retail price of their branded counterparts.
